One is not born a women, one becomes one....

Well hello my darlings....

I hope you have been having a truly festive time... I thought i would just swing by to let you know the festive goings on....

Well i must have been a really good girl as Santa really did visit our humble abode as i really have been spoilt my pressies include such things as a new handbag, necklace, earrings a darling figurine of Tinkerbell with the caption let your dreams fly :-).... and drum roll pleeeaasssee i am now the proud owner of a stunning princess cut white gold engagement ring yay!!

So i can now announce myself and my gorgeous fiancee are tying the note on 10th May 2014... this is 10 years in the making so i can't lie and say there weren't a few tears shed Christmas day as he got down on one knee, shaking with our song playing in the background to ask me to marry him :-) true tell your grandchildren story style....

The other new love of my life is Yankee candles new scent pink lady slipper, a scent of parma violets with a subtle fresh note perfect....This got me thinking of smells and how much they personally mean to me as i associate my fondest memories to smells, for example parma violets reminds me of my great Nana who died two years ago and Saturday afternoons at her house, since she passed I've kept her favourite Yardley's perfume on my dresser and just a mere spritz makes me feel close to her remembering her teaching me classic make up techniques i still use. My Nana was and always be my style icon so immaculate even in her last year of 92 years old she was fashion  perfect.....

Other smells that i love are suntan lotion and fruity cocktails a heady mix that takes me back to myself and my fiancees first festival together, friends all around us amazing music pure pleasure :-) and more recently our first holiday together to Corfu :-)

so any smells that take you to a moment in time?? personally its music and smells for me that can instantly make me smile or cry at a memory.....

Whilst i'm here my new years fashion inspiration...

and my take for new years eve with black blazer heels and glitz

what do we think???

oh and a pic of me and my gorgeous other half around 2 years ago :-)

have fun everyone mwahhhhhhhh xoxoxoxo

Beauty as you've never used it before......

Well hello there my lovelies......

Sorry I've been a bit AWOL lately just seems to never stop at the moment.... so lets catch up...

I am now in a very very festive mood now the trees up and there is sparkle all around, I've barely had time to think or move from my lecture hall and laptop it seems lately, with studies picking up just before our much needed chrimbo break (yayayyyy!!)

So what have been up to well i took my gorgeous little god daughter swimming for the first time a couple of weekends ago which was amazing it truly melted my heart as she is only 6.....

I've almost finished my Christmas shopping...... which leads me to this post it was my uni xmas do last night and every girl knows how much goes into looking good on a big night out.... well in the process of this i have found a few uses for things that you will not believe i just had to share....

First off....

we all know this.... and this is one of my true staples i always have hanging around in my bag especially now the winter has truly set in.... so what did i use it for other than my lips you ask?? well two things....

1) when i was fake tanning (after thoroughly exfoliating my golden rule of any good tan) i hit the deep moisturise stage.... which is fine as i have mountains of lovely smelling body butters, but low and behold on my latest haul i forgot to pick up Vaseline which was a bummer as my pet hate of fake tanners the world round is that orange look that looks like you smoke a million a day around your nails... my remedy Vaseline or in this case lip balm a wallah :-)....

2) also comes in handy when I'm pencilling in my eyebrows for that sleek look....

Number two....

Got an old mascara knocking around?? i always do i just can't get rid of anything (4 wardrobes is my sign of this...) so i can't get into my lifesaving hairdressers until this Thursday great as my hair will look lush for chrimbo..... but that didn't help me this Saturday dyed brown hair 9 weeks in.... as I'm growing my hair again after my rash decision to bob my hair off (lucky it grows quick).... so roots flashing lights brown extension's hmmmmm not a great look.... out comes the mascara a trick i picked up when i worked at the hairdressers as a stylist....

a pic from my night out don't think i look too shabby :-) (I'm in the animal print)

Anyway folks off to write about hetrotophic nutrition (and find some wet look leggings and a top... any accessory ideas hola at me :-)) .. oh and I'm seeing my amazing family at the weekend swapping prezzies.... then out for a meal with my favourite people....

hope you have an amazing week everyone

Judging a person by appearances......

OK been a little thoughtful today and contemplating a lot of things, i  don't know if this i due to going back to education after so many years out or that i currently writing an application form for what is quite possibly the job i literally would spend the rest of my life quite happily doing......

OK so where to start as you all know from my personal jargon bit i am currently studying to become a social worker... this has led me to applying for said job as, as they say there is no value on experience.... the job i am applying for is a support worker within a women's refuge which is exactly what i want to be doing as i have too many personal scars to even think about when it comes to domestic violence,
but while i was writing my application i came to the personal statement section 45 lines of how to tell a person who i am and why i should be working for them..... yeah difficult huh... this has then led to me thinking maybe this is the best way to judge someone as human nature tells us that we will judge someone on how they look rightly or wrongly we're all guilty right???

This got me thinking of the first time i met my future mother in law a vicar, we met at her house as you can imagine i was already quite nervous as i was meeting the love of my life's mom... add on top of that her being in full vicar dress my nerves were extreme i didn't know what to say or how to act, so i opted for my grandparent self.... (we all know that one right no taboo subjects dressed Conservatively) yep that was me a bag of nerves in chinos and knitwear lol

Because you see i had already judged this complete stranger on how she looks.... this over time i have come to realize is the complete opposite of the person i now know...... if you look at me for example i look the stereotypical girly girl and don't get me wrong i can be but deep down i'd quite happily be in my jujitsu lesson no make up (well hardly :)) and my hair tied back..... but you would never guess this by looking at me........

can a job or ''a look'' really hold such importance that it outweighs every other aspect of our view of a person??

***I promise next time i won't be as deep sorry .... i will fill you in on my other goings on..... i.e my shopping trip today :-)***

My little slice of heaven..........

My little slice of heaven....

Ok so if you have found this blog I am very comforted as I won't be rambling to myself and as they say the first sign of madness is talking to ones self....

Anyway lets get acquainted as you have now found me :-) my names Sam I'm 23 and I am currently studying to become a social worker... I have recently moved from Hampshire back home to the West Midlands as believe it or not I moved all that way and the love of my life was on my doorstep all along... Fate is a very funny thing eh..... So I've moved in with my lovely in laws to be.... Yep alongside studying I'm also planning our upcoming wedding glutton for punishment??? Nope excited!!!!

So this brings me to my very first post creating my little slice of heaven within a somewhat chaotic household ( we live in a vicarage as my dear mother in law to be is a vicar which is interesting to say the least... But that's for later posts lol)

So below is the beautiful oasis I created ( I do wish I'd done a before pic....) let me know what you think my theme was aiming towards tranquil vintage..... All the furniture I stripped and brought back to life myself :-)
